Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to get ready to add many more achievements to our already accomplished success in tourism to date. The Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD), a respectable Non-Governmental Organization at national and international levels, a sectoral association empowered by all of you, has situated itself in several projects for a healthy future of Turkish tourism and consequently a healthy Turkish economy, by its cooperation with public, local administrations and other civil society organizations. We all, as TYD, protect the interests of our members as we communicate to relevant authorities, our solution proposals on sectoral issues, while maintaining good relations with all institutions.
Following the elections, we have to be aware of the principal fact that, from perspective of the business world and professional organizations, “the most important expectation of the general public is to take more share from economic growth and to increase per capita income.” Our goal is the same, with no doubt. Therefore, in addition to our motto, another significant objective is to secure a healthy and satisfactory foreign exchange input for our sector. The tourism sector is achieving a growth rate which will exceed expectations for 2011. As specified in our vision and goals for 2023, project and destination based actions have started in our sector, the results of which will be obtained very soon.
Our target is to become the 5th largest tourism country in the Mediterranean region, bring in 60 million foreign tourists and 60 billion USD foreign exchange income.
All of us, being major contributors, having invested in creation of contemporary Turkish tourism, which has the largest competition power as a sector in Turkey, we will continue to be our country’s advertising ambassadors, not only within our borders but also with our investments abroad in this globalizing world.
